Hospital Policies

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases will always receive top priority and may cause delay.

We will happily fit in your emergency if we are available, but please call ahead so that we can best attend to your pet’s needs.

For your convenience, ‘drop-off’ appointments will be available. We will ask you to drop off in the morning so our doctor can examine the patient in between appointments.

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash and personal checks.  We only offer payment plans through Care Credit. Please go to the website www.carecredit.com to find a plan that suits your needs.

For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area. All cats must be in an cat carrier or on a leash. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. If you need to borrow a leash, please ask at the front desk before you bring your pet in.

We ask that you provide us with a minimum of 24 hour notice. If you are unable to provide us with 24 hour (or more) notice of an appointment cancellation, we regret to inform you that a Missed Appointment Fee will be applied to your account.

New York State law requires a valid doctor-patient relationship for a veterinary hospital to dispense prescription medications of any kind. All medications require an exam performed by the prescribing veterinarian within the past year.

If you are 15 minutes or later for your appointment, we may have to ask you to reschedule, and we may have to apply a “Late Fee” to your account. If we are able to accommodate you, we will, but this may require a longer wait time than usual. Thank you for arriving promptly so we have time to take care of you and your pet properly!
